About Ian

Ian Pengelley has made a significant contribution to the popularisation of Pan-Asian Food in Britain and is easily recognised as one of the world’s leading chefs in this field.

Spending 11 years in Asia working in various Asian restaurants. Came back to open Birdcage, Hempel and went on 6 months research and development trip to Australia, Asia and America to launch its first major project E&O on Nothing Hill. Winning accolade and significant awards.

Ian then started its consultancy business and started designing kitchens from Shanghai back to London. One year of Pengelley's with Gordon Ramsey (1 year was enough) Ian opened its biggest project to date, Gilgamesh. Again winning various awards. Also opened Chai Wu in Harrods for the Mango Tree Group along with House of Ho in Fitzrovia in December 2015. He consults for The Apollo Group on-board Oceania, Regent, Thomson Cruises and for Nozomi Saudi Arabia which has won best restaurant in the Middle-East.
